From Heaven to Desire

Last Monday night saw me venturing out after a month of nights in, detoxing and saving money for Christmas.  I hadn’t been out since Halloween weekend, and I had promised myself a detox until Monday 29th November - The date had been scribbled into my diary for weeks, and I just couldn't wait!

Popcorn - The Red and White Charity Ball in aid of the Elton John AIDS foundation at Heaven. For this occasion, two of my favourite House DJ’s were to perform back to back; DJ Alan K and DJ Jamie Hammond with percussionist David H playing live alongside them. After a whole month away from the House Music Scene, I was counting the hours, minutes then seconds until I could hear the uplifting beats making my heart beat faster and forcing my feet to move along to the dance-floor, where I would stay until the lights came on!

As soon as the clock struck 1am, the main dance-floor at Heaven seemed to miraculously fill up in a second as Alan K took to the stage and seemed to get fuller and fuller as Jamie Hammond joined him at 2am. There were also some amazing dancers to keep us entertained! The night was truly fabulous, and I had an amazing time!

In fact, I was having such a good time, I didn’t want the night to end.

Grabbing percussionist David H, I headed to one place where I knew the party was just getting started...

Vauxhall.

DJ Steven Geller launched a great new night at Union in November, Desire – The Popcorn Afterparty – and I’ve been dying to go! Launched at the beginning of November, Desire @ Union is getting bigger and bigger, and after being there last Tuesday morning, I can see why. Steven was amazing and the atmosphere was buzzing! David H even made a guest appearance =)

Check out the footage from Desire @ Union on Tuesday 30th November 2010.

So, if you're up for going out tonight, but not sure where to go... I suggest starting off at Heaven and ending the night at Union... it's definitely the way forward... =)

New Look, New Blog

I started my blog quite a while ago, and I LOVED updating it and adding new posts. However, in the past year I seem to have neglected my love of writing! However, after giving my blog a bit of a make over, I have decided to get back into it, and write about all the things I love in the world of fashion and music...

On March 24th, Brit pop legends, Suede, reformed for an amazing show at The Royal Albert Hall in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Brett Anderson, Mat Osman, Simon Gilbert, Richard Oakes and Neil Codling reunited for the first time in almost a decade...and I got the pleasure of styling the band for the show!

I would like to thank Lanvin and Diesel  =)

I think Nicholas Hoult is lovely! Best known for his role as Marcus in About A Boy and Tony in Skins, he can now be seen  alongside Colin Firth in A Single Man. Definitely one to look out for!

Lee Alexander McQueen
(1969-2010)

Thursday 11th February 2010 was a sad fay for fashion. British fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his Mayfair house just ahead of fashion week and the day before his mothers funeral, who died just 9 days earlier. It is reported he was found after hanging himself.

RIP McQueen...

Hundreds of outfits and accessories Wendy collected over the years will be on sale - some of which can be seen in the picture below.

The old cast were replaced by Colin Salmon as Captain Peacock, Natalie Cassidy as Miss Brahms, Fern Britton as Mrs Slocombe, Ricky Groves as Mr Humphries, James Alexandrou as Mr Lucas, Derren Litten as Mr Grainger and the original cast member Nicholas Smith returned as Mr Rumbold.
