Chari-dee : The Special Yoga Centre

The Special Yoga Centre  is a fantastic yoga centre, not only for adults, but for children too. The centre holds classes for children with special needs, and many of the children that attend have been known to feel more relaxed and are able to enjoy a fun activity with their parents.

On November 12th, The Special Yoga Centre held a special Charity Auction hosted by committee member, Gaby Roslin and British comedian Simon Day, with guests including actor Craig Kelly , presenter George Clarke and fashion photographer Matthew Donaldson .

The auction offered many amazing prizes, and with fabulous cocktails being served all evening, it led to some amazing offers...and also led to whole new ‘prizes’ being made up on the night, like Simon Day selling himself to cook dinner and tell jokes for the evening for £1,200!

Other lucky winners won prizes including George Clarke from the Home Show to redesign your house for £5000 and Liam Gallagher’s guitar went for £3000.

Overall, the night was a huge success! £40,000 was made on the night!

This registered charity needs £250,000 per year to support the work they do. Every bit helps. Click here to go to the website to find out more information.

500 Days of Summer

I finally watched 500 Days of Summer starring Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I absolutely LOVE this film and the Soundtrack is amazing, including songs from The Smiths, Simon and Garfunkel, Daryl Hall and John Oates, DovesRegina Spektor and Feist!

Watch it! =)

Music... Lykke Li

Ever since I heard Lykke Li's cover of my favourite Kings of Leon song, Knocked Up, I’ve been a huge fan! I LOVE the original version, however, Lykke Li's version is also just as beautiful but different.

The 23 year old from Sweden, has such a sweet, angelic voice and has been increasingly popular with indie music fans. She released her first album Youth Novels in the UK on June 9th 2008.

Most recently, she has contributed an amazingly beautiful song for the
Twilight Saga: New Moon  soundtrack. After Lykke Li was asked to contribute she wasn’t sure if she wanted to write a song, however, once she saw an early screening of the film, she wrote Possibility especially for it – and it fits extremely well in one of my most favourite scenes from the film.

I would recommend her album, Youth Novels, to everyone! Buy it now!

New Moon is out in cinemas across the world now (as if you didn’t know!) and the official soundtrack is also available to buy.

Designs By Mairead

I have always been interested in psychics. I may not have had the courage to go to one yet (slightly afraid of hearing something I don’t want to), but I know some friends and family members who see one all the time!

Instead of having my future told, I’ve found some amazing pieces of jewellery from a psychic turned jewellery designer, Mairead. She is a naturally gifted psychic and healer who has devoted many years to working with healing energies and has over 11 years experience as a powerful healer and clairvoyant.

As a child she was always fascinated with beads and crystals, and has now integrated her healing and psychic energy work within the jewellery crafting process by channeling powerful healing and abundance into each piece of jewellery she makes. The gemstones natural energy vibration is enhanced to bring about positive and increased energy for the wearer.

Fans include Jemma Kidd, who is often seen out wearing the delicate pieces.

I’m a huge fan of Mairead’s new design, The Alchemy. It’s a beautiful piece. The necklace is extra long and delicately made with 18ct gold and precious multi Tourmaline in a rainbow of colours and beautiful sky blue Topaz gems. You can also detach a section to create a smaller necklace and bracelet, or separate the two necklaces to wear both together with one laying just beneath the other and even spiral the long chain around your wrist or ankle!

The Alchemy is available to buy on Designs By Mairead for £465

Forever 21... Favourites!

Forever 21 is my American Primark. I can't walk past one without popping in and purchasing just a little something for a bargain price for the thrill of having something new...and there's ALWAYS something in there I want!

On Sunday, I bought this super cute t-shirt! I love it! The print is cute and it would look great worn casually with leggings - I made sure to buy a size up as I love my t-shirts to be loose and comfy - or you can even dress it up with tight jeans and heels.

The t-shirt is available in stores now for $14.80, and for people not in the US, Forever 21 are now delivering to the UK, woo! =)

Dr Leslie Stevens

I had the pleasure of meeting Hollywood's leading plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr Leslie Stevens a week ago.

He's done work on many celebrities, most famously Sharon Osbourne. He refused to do anything on me right now (I had a huge list of things I would like done...), however, in 20 years time I would like him to be the one making me look young!

Empire State of Mind

Since coming back to the UK after spending 3 months in New York in mid April 2009, I've been dying to go back! So I did on Thursday night.... just in time to go to the Yankee Parade on Friday!

The crowd was crazy - there were SO many people, and being...petite... I couldn't see a thing...so I headed to a bar with my 3 new best friends of the day that I randomly made who (very) easily persuaded me to join them at the parade!

From the comfort of a rather packed bar and a bottle of beer (yes, beer) I watched the parade on TV =)

The theme tune of the day was inevitably Jay Z and Alicia Keys, Empire State of Mind. It was thrilling hearing the whole crowd in the streets and bars break out into the catchy chorus...and at the end of the parade, Jay Z sang the song live for us!

The Clinton Foundation

On Friday 30th October, I was given the opportunity to attend a reception to support former US President Bill Clinton's foundation at The Dorchester, Park Lane.

He was very inspiring speaking about how to turn ideas into action and treating HIV, Aids and Malaria, telling us stories of people he'd met along the way and how they touched him and motivated him to work on the Clinton Foundation.

I feel extremely privileged to have heard his speech.

Click here for more information on his charity.
